Before you start researching products, taking a few minutes to configure your Seller Aim account ensures that every profit estimate, fee calculation, and restriction check reflects your actual selling situation. This page covers selecting your marketplace, setting your fulfillment model, dialing in your profit defaults, and installing the browser extension.

Connecting Your Amazon Marketplace

Seller Aim localizes all product data — fees, category benchmarks, currency, VAT rules, and competition metrics — to the Amazon marketplace you select. Choosing the right marketplace upfront means every number you see is relevant to where you actually sell.
1

Open Marketplace Settings

From your dashboard, click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Settings → Marketplace.
2

Select Your Primary Marketplace

Choose the Amazon marketplace that represents your main selling region. Seller Aim supports:
3

Save and Confirm

Click Save Marketplace. Your dashboard, browser extension overlay, and all product lookups immediately reflect pricing, fees, and rankings for your chosen region.
You can switch your active marketplace with a single click at any time from the top navigation bar. This is useful if you sell across multiple regions and want to compare product performance between marketplaces.
All product data, fee structures, and profit calculations are specific to your selected marketplace. Switching marketplaces will update every figure across your dashboard and the browser extension — including historical lookups and saved products. Always confirm your active marketplace before making a sourcing decision.

Fulfillment Preferences

Your fulfillment model has a direct impact on your profit calculations. Seller Aim supports both Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) and Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) so you can model costs accurately for the way you actually operate.
1

Navigate to Fulfillment Settings

Go to Settings → Fulfillment Preferences.
2

Choose Your Default Fulfillment Type

Select either FBA or FBM as your default:
  • FBA — Seller Aim automatically applies Amazon’s pick, pack, and storage fees based on the product’s size tier and weight. This is the default for most sellers shipping inventory to Amazon warehouses.
  • FBM — Seller Aim removes FBA-specific fees and lets you enter your own shipping and handling costs. Choose this if you ship orders directly from your warehouse or use a third-party logistics provider.
3

Save Your Preference

Click Save. Your chosen fulfillment type is applied to every profit calculation and product overlay going forward. You can override the setting on a per-product basis at any time directly inside the profit calculator.
If you sell using both FBA and FBM, set your default to whichever model you use most often. The profit calculator lets you toggle between the two on any individual product without changing your global default.

Profit Calculation Defaults

Seller Aim’s profit calculator is most accurate when it knows your baseline costs and targets. Configure these defaults once and they’ll pre-populate every calculation automatically.
1

Set Your Default Cost of Goods (COG)

Go to Settings → Profit Defaults. Enter your typical Cost of Goods as either a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of the selling price. This becomes the starting point in every product lookup — you can always override it for a specific product when you know the exact cost.
2

Define Your Target ROI and Margin Thresholds

Enter the minimum Return on Investment (ROI) and profit margin you require before considering a product viable. Seller Aim uses these thresholds to color-code products in your dashboard:
  • 🟢 Green — meets or exceeds both your ROI and margin targets
  • 🟡 Yellow — meets one threshold but not both
  • 🔴 Red — falls below both thresholds
Typical benchmarks for Amazon FBA sellers are a 30% ROI and a 20% net margin, but adjust these to match your own business model.
3

Configure VAT Settings (European Marketplaces)

If you sell on a European marketplace (UK, DE, FR, ES, or IT), enable VAT Calculations and enter your registered VAT rate. Seller Aim will factor VAT into your profit calculations so your margin figures reflect your true post-tax return.
UK sellers operating under the VAT flat rate scheme should enter their flat rate percentage rather than the standard 20% rate. Consult your accountant if you’re unsure which rate applies to your business.

Installing the Browser Extension

The Seller Aim browser extension brings product research directly into your Amazon browsing experience — no switching between tabs or copying ASINs manually.
1

Install from the Chrome Web Store

In your Seller Aim dashboard, click Get the Extension in the top banner, or go directly to the Chrome Web Store and search for Seller Aim. Click Add to Chrome, then confirm by clicking Add extension in the pop-up dialog.
2

Pin the Extension to Your Toolbar

Click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome’s toolbar, find Seller Aim in the list, and click the pin icon. This keeps the extension visible and one click away at all times.
3

Sign In to the Extension

Click the Seller Aim icon in your toolbar and sign in with your account credentials. The extension syncs your marketplace selection, fulfillment preferences, and profit defaults automatically.
The extension activates on the following pages:
  • Amazon product detail pages — full overlay with BSR, price history, profit estimate, and restriction status
  • Amazon search results pages — inline profit and restriction indicators next to every listing
  • Supplier and wholesale websites — enter a product’s ASIN or UPC to pull live Amazon data without leaving the supplier’s site
The Seller Aim extension currently supports Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (including Microsoft Edge and Brave). A Firefox version is on the roadmap — sign up for product updates in your account settings to be notified when it launches.
